Shoes with a Message
Inclusion and the right to equal opportunities for persons with disabilities is achieved by providing adequate aids. It’s not that hard to understand. We are very aware of that because we have been learning about the many obstacles faced by people with disabilities in B&H for a long time. When all this is understood, it becomes apparent that the authorities in B&H, with their long-term impediment to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, consciously skip and bypass persons with disabilities.
Based on this insight we have developed a communication platform Shoes with a Message with intent to get the general public walk a mile in the shoes of persons with disabilities in order to get everyone to understand that adequate aids are essential in the life of a person with disabilities. We received the understanding and support we requested from the general public – they liked & shared photographs of shoes from Misha’s father, Snjezana, Natasha and Dzevad to help persons with disabilities finally reach those who decide and obtain the right to an adequate aid.
